Let's put together in one book all the things he wants to know about, where to fish, when it's good where, what's best to fish with.' This is the book. It's not just about the best things to own when you fish. You'll notice columns on how to tie knots, where to fish, things you'll want to know that have nothing to do with what we sell. This is why we call it The Big Little Book of Fishing'

New York Alfred A. Knopf, 1993 06794236966 First Edition Hard Cover
317 pages, 8 plates, boards, very good. 1st edition. From the Columbia Encyclopedia, Sixth edition, '1943-93, American tennis player, b. Richmond, Va. Ashe rose from his hometown's public courts to become the first African-American male to reach prominence in tennis. He won the 1965 intercollegiate singles championship while at the Univ. of California at Los Angeles. Denied a visa by South Africa on racial grounds in 1970, Ashe forced the issue, appearing before the United Nations and urging the World Tennis Union to expel South Africa because of its apartheid policy. Noted for his grace, hard-hit topspin, and outstanding backhand, Ashe won the 1968 U.S. Open, the 1970 Australian Open, and the 1975 Wimbledon title. He retired as a player following a 1979 heart attack, but continued to serve as the U.S. Davis Cup captain. In 1992 he announced that he had acquired AIDS from a heart operation years earlier. He remained an active spokesperson on many issues, including race relations and AIDS, until his death.'

20 Bankes, James The Pittsburgh Crawfords: the Lives and Times of Black Baseball's Most Exciting Team
Dubuque, IA Wm. C. Brown Company Publishers 1991 069712889X / 9780697128898 Softcover Very Good
Xii, 173 pages, well illustrated, pictorial wrappers, 7 by10 inches, very good. From the Wikipedia website: "The Pittsburgh Crawfords were a professional Negro League baseball team based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Originally a youth semipro team, the Crawfords were acquired in 1931 by Gus Greenlee, a numbers operator. Stepping into an organizational vacuum, as the major African American leagues of the 1920s, the Negro National League and the Eastern Colored League, had fallen apart by late that year, Greenlee signed many of the top African-American stars, most notably Satchel Paige. The next year, 1932, saw Greenlee hire Hall of Famer Oscar Charleston as playing manager, and add Hall of Famers Josh Gibson, Judy Johnson, and Cool Papa Bell, along with other notable players, such as William Bell, Rap Dixon, and Ted Radcliffe. Playing as an independent club, the Crawfords immediately established themselves as perhaps the best black team in the United States.
