From the introduction: "The New Hampshire 1732 Census alphabetizes over 3,000 household heads. For the first time, this early 18-century colony is examined by person, by town, and by the number of males over 16 in each household. Each entry is documented to the original source. Town population estimates and an economic analysis are also included. The major documented used in compiling the census is a list of ratables for 1732. This document contains the names of all inhabitants for 13 of the 23 towns then settled. Ten towns are left out of the 1732 ratable list because they were either exempt from taxes or claimed by Massachusetts.
