Volume 2 only. 5-1/2 by 8-1/2 inches. Chapter 1: Journal of the stay of the author at Peking, from the end of December till his departure from that capital; Account of the minister Ho quen, and the articles of impeachment against him; The Chinese army, Visit to the Portuguese missionaries, Visit to the temple of Houang szu, Interview with some natives of Corea, and particulars respecting that country. Chapter 2: A short description of Peking, by Father Gaubil; Some account of the manners and customs of the inhabitants, prices of provisions, &c.
