Donald, David, editor Warplanes of the Luftwaffe London Aerospace Publishing 1994 1874023565 / 9781874023562 First Edition Hardcover Very Good in Very Good dust jacket 254 pages, well illustrated, many color 3-views and profiles, cut-aways, cloth, DJ, 9 by 12-1/2 inches, very good. From the dust jacket: "From 1933 through to the end of World War II, the German aviation industry was at the cutting edge of design excellence and technical innovation - despite meddling from politicians and the war raging around them. A landfall of classic designs such as the Focke-Wulf Fw 190 and Junkers Ju 88 formed the backbone of the Luftwaffe throughout the war, constantly improved so that the final versions were almost unrecognizable from the initial designs. But there were also revolutionary new projects such as the Messerschmitt Me 262 and 163, using new concepts in aerodynamics, jet engines and rocket propulsion which were to change the course of aviation forever. Despite their defeat, the legacy of many of these German innovations lived on. They formed the basis of many Cold War warplanes in America, Russia, Britain, and France. And even today they form the foundations of modern military aviation and weaponry This volume describes these feats of aviation excellence. Every warplane that Hitler's Luftwaffe flew in front-line combat is featured, with rare photographs, detailed artworks, and comprehensive descriptions. Warplanes of the Luftwaffe is the most complete volume ever published on this spectacular subject. " ; 254 pages Price:
