From the University of Richmond Museums website: 'Born in Paris and raised in Germany, Feininger was influenced by the Bauhaus, where his father, artist Lyonel Feininger, taught prior to World War II. FEININGER, ANDREAS Total picture control. New York Amphoto 1970 Hard Cover Very Good in Fair dust jacket 356 pages, very well illustrated, cloth, dust jacket frayed otherwise very good. From the dj: "Total Picture Control ils ot a textbook for beginners. Rather, it is a critical analysis of the means and methods by which experienced photographers influence and control the outcome of their pictures. The emphasis is on light, color, contrast, perspective, motion and mood, which makes this a rather sophisticated book addressed to students who are familiar with basic photographic techniques." From the University of Richmond Museums website: 'Born in Paris and raised in Germany, Feininger was influenced by the Bauhaus, where his father, artist Lyonel Feininger, taught prior to World War II.
