3 Dickinson, S. N. The Boston Almanac for the Year 1846, (No. 11, Vol. III)
Boston Thomas Groom & Co. 1845 Hardcover Good+
176 pages, illustrations, map, cloth, very good. 3.25 by 5.5 inches. Remnants of Samuel N. Dickenson Printing Company ad inside front cover, approximately four inch by three-quarter inch piece missing from top right corner of fold out map showing Rail Roads Diverging from Boston. A few notations on the memoranda pages. From the preface: Here it is, wind and weather, fire and storm, business men and business things, railroads, steamboats, packets, stages, maps, rivers, lakes, and all the transaction in, on, and about them, compact, lucid full, 'multum in parvo,' all for 25 cents. What a wonder! Our astronomical calculations are 'all correct,' and our list of 'events' cannot but be in a healthy state, having been in the hands of one of the best physicians, who has taken special care to put them in 'good case' to be 'seen in print.' Then our Railroad Map is a 'new thing under the sun.' No matter where you are, or where you wish to be, you can 'find your position,' 'distance,' and 'bearings,' all by this said Railroad Map. Our Business Directory comes out 'improved and enlarged,' and will now direct you more kinds of business than ever before. Boston is a great place, but we think our little Almanac will tell you pretty nearly all what is done in it." ; 176 pages
