5 21 Days to Baghdad: the Inside Story of How America Won the War Against Iraq
New York Time Inc. 2003 1932273123 / 9781932273120 Hardcover Very Good in Very Good dust jacket
176 pages, well illustrated in color, cloth, DJ, very good. From the dust jacket: "In 21 Days To Baghdad, Time's photographers and correspondents provide exclusive, eyewitness accounts of Operation Iraqi Freedom. It was a history-making campaign. In just three weeks, U. S. And British forces sprinted 350 miles from the Kuwait-Iraq border to downtown Baghdad. Time's journalists were there - reporting the action as the 3rd Infantry Division fought off suicidal attackers in Najaf, riding in the lead humvee when the Marines took Kut, traversing mountains with special forces as they hunted down terrorists. 21 Days to Baghdad gives an insider look at the people of Iraq as well, taking you to the urban battlefields of Baghdad, Basra and Kirkuk to see the impact of war on ordinary citizens. All told, 21 Days to Baghdad is a griping perspective on a new kind of war from some of the world's best photojournalists and reporters. " ; 176 pages

9 A Few Facts Relative to the Mineral Wealth of Choco More Particularly in and about the River Andagueda, Republic of Colombia, South America.
Boston Peck Bros. ca. 1910 Softcover Very Good- with No dust jacket as issued
22 pages, wrappers, very good. Small piece missing from corner of front cover, not affecting text. Scarce. Interesting early booklet giving the glowing prospects of gold mining in the Choco area. "Choco, a district of the State of Cauca, Republic of Colombia, South America, is considered by competent authority hereinafter referred to, to be the rich gold section in the world, many million dollars worth having been taken out by the crude workings of the native. The gravel as yet is hardly touched, and is virgin as far as company work is concerned ~ The Government of Colombia is most friendly to any legitimate enterprise pointing towards the development of the State." From "Gold: Its Geological Occurrence and Geographical Distribution" by James Malcolm Maclaren (Mining Journal, 1908) : "Perhaps the most promising placer-deposits in Colombia are those of the Choco district. ~ The gravels, both of the Choco and the San Juan, are undoubtedly rich, but the deadly climate and difficulties of transport have hitherto prevented their successful exploitation by modern methods."
